The City of Wagoner Public Works Authority will be doing construction on Wagoner Street starting Monday, April 9th. To ensure the safety of our employees, Wagoner St. will be closed to thru traffic from Cherokee and Wagoner, north, to Polk and Wagoner, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on normal business days.

Homes along this stretch of road will have access to the street, however other traffic will need to follow detour signs to avoid this area.

The infrastructure to this section of homes currently runs south, underneath a commercial building and across/underneath Cherokee St, where the lines are blocked.

In order to prevent digging up Cherokee Street, the most effective and efficient solution is to lay a new sewage line with better access for future repairs if needed. The new line will be 800 feet of 8 inch sewage pipe and this process will also allow WPWA to provide new service to three residences along that stretch of road. WPWA is also working with Oklahoma Natural Gas representatives due to a high pressure gas line in the vicinity of the target area.

Supervisors estimate that this project will take approximately ten days to complete. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to update infrastructure and to better our community!
