ATTENTION: The City of Wagoner will conduct smoke testing from Monday, September 12, 2022, through Friday, September 16, 2022. This will affect areas from Coal Creek to the North, SW 9th, and possibly Westland Acres. It is recommended that residents run water in any sinks that are not frequently utilized. This will help prevent smoke from coming into homes.

Smoke testing is performed periodically as part of the continued Management Plan for the sewer system. This testing helps identify unauthorized water entering the sanitary sewer system. Excessive water entering the system increases the load on the Sewer Treatment Plant and could cause overflows.

The City will be using unique, non-toxic smoke. This smoke leaves no residuals or stains and has no harmful effects on plants or animals. However, if you come into direct contact with the smoke, you may experience minor respiratory irritation.

The smoke is expected to travel out the rooftop sewer vent, which is normal. However, if you notice any smoke inside your home or business, immediately open the doors and windows, contact the testing crew, or call 918-485-4586. This could mean that potentially harmful sewage gases could enter your home or business.
