Congratulations to Rhonda Hash, our City Clerk, on receiving the Pruett-Lamb Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 MESO Public Power Conference!
Rhonda began her career with the City of Wagoner on November 28, 1977, as a secretary. She then served as the secretary for the City Clerk, City Superintendent, and Wagoner Public Works Director. Over the years, Rhonda has worked in nearly every position within the City offices, including roles as bookkeeper, cashier, billing specialist, and purchasing agent, ultimately becoming the City Clerk and Wagoner Public Works office manager. In 2011, when longtime City Clerk Linda Gaylor decided not to run for re-election, Rhonda made the difficult decision to leave her full-time position as purchasing agent to take on the elected role of City Clerk.
Rhonda is the longest-serving employee of the City of Wagoner and the Wagoner Public Works Authority, with almost 48 years of dedicated service to her community. In addition to excelling in her job, Rhonda demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to both her community and the general public.
Rhonda has trained, assisted, and mentored countless city employees. She provides unwavering support during times of tragedy within the city and possesses a wealth of knowledge and understanding that few can match.
Rhonda consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty. She embodies ingenuity, bringing not just her perspective and experience but also 48 years of invaluable lessons learned that contribute to the operation and future of our community. Always willing to pitch in for the greater good, Rhonda has dedicated her time and resources to numerous events in Wagoner.
When asked how she has remained here for so long, Rhonda offers a simple yet profound answer that resonates with many employees: "If you take care of your job, your job will take care of you." This code is the foundation of her dedication to her work and her commitment to helping in any way she can.
