The Cold weather helpful reminders:

1.  Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses and spigots- wrap outside faucets
(use insulation, heat tape, faucet covers, fabric, plastic bags -check with your local hardware store).
2.  Leave a pencil-lead-thin stream of water dripping at all your faucets
3.  Insulate water pipes or faucets in exposed or unheated areas
4.  If you have a crawl space be sure to cover the outside vents
5.  Find your main shut-off valve and label it
6.  Keep your cover/lid on your outside meter...this will protect the meter from freezing.
Know where your meter is....if it is covered by several inches of snow-it can be hard to find
     in an emergency.

7.  Leave under the sink cabinet doors open...this will help circulate warm air.
8.  Be extremely careful with space heaters- do not put them near curtains, furnishings, or other flamables.
9.  Do not use generators, outdoor grills, propane heaters etc. inside residence/business- due to
carbon monixide fumes that can be deadly.

Just a few helpful hints....we recommend that you contact a plumber/electrician or other service
professionals if you need further information or instructions.
All City Departments will be on call to make sure services are uninterupted.  Please be patient as
they have a great deal of ground and air to cover!
