Electricity is purchased from Grand River Dam Authority and delivered to our citizens and businesses over our own electrical system. This allows us to provide power to our customers at very competitive rates.
Rates for Electrical services provided by the Wagoner Public Works Authority were established and effective with the first billing cycle in April 2017. PCA rates were established and effective with the first billing cycle in April 2017.

RETAIL POWER COST ADJUSTMENT (PCA)
A power cost adjustment or PCA is a mechanism used to pass on changes in power supply cost to customers. Power supply costs are included in the base rate schedules and anything above or below the base power supply costs are on a kWh basis in the customer’s monthly bill. The PCA is calculated monthly, using a six-month rolling average methodology as follows:
(Present total power supply cost plus the previous five months total power supply costs ) divided by (Total kWh purchased/produced plus the previous 5 months total kWh purchased/produced) times (system losses) = Power supplied at Retail.
Power supplied at retail is then compared to the current power supply costs in the base rate schedules: presently $0.0609. Any difference is passed on to the customer’s monthly bill on a per kWh basis.
The utility reserves the right to true up the PCA at year end if needed to ensure the proper power supply costs were recovered. The utility will keep a running total of the base power supply costs collected through rates and a running total of PCA revenues collected and compared to total power cost to ensure full recovery.
